Stress Less With Self Care This Season

I am here today hoping to offer you some resources to help you stress less about the upcoming holidays.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes planning for the holidays can cause a lot of stress. If you’re like most women, your plate is full – especially right now, as we approach the holiday seasons. Caring for your home, your family, and yourself can be overwhelming. Doing so while dealing with chronic illness makes it all the more difficult.

As I have been wanting to focus more on mental health advocacy in my writing, I have been thinking a lot about the importance of self-care. Do you have things you do to take care of you?? It is so important to make sure your own oxygen mask is firmly in place so that you can help others. In the busy seasons of life, it’s more important than ever to find ways to manage and reduce your stress levels.

Uncovering a few small tweaks to your routines or parenting strategies you can put into action now can make a HUGE difference in your day-to-day life. The first and most important one is set boundaries: Establish clear boundaries around your time, energy, and commitments. Learn to say no to activities or events that don't align with your priorities or values.

Next it is important to delegate tasks: Don't be afraid to delegate tasks or ask for help when needed. Whether it's cooking, cleaning, or gift wrapping, sharing responsibilities with others can lighten the load and reduce stress.

Make sure to create time for rest: Prioritize rest and relaxation to recharge your batteries during the busy holiday season. Make time for adequate sleep, downtime, and activities that help you unwind and rejuvenate.

Additionally, it is important to set realistic expectations: Manage your expectations and avoid striving for perfection during the holidays. Embrace imperfection and focus on creating meaningful moments rather than trying to create the "perfect" holiday experience.

By incorporating these strategies into your holiday season, you can reduce stress, prioritize self-care, and create a more meaningful and enjoyable experience for yourself and your loved ones.
